August Full Moon 2026: What Are You Ready to Release?

The Full Moon on August 28, 2026 arrives as the month begins to draw to a close — a beautiful moment to slow down, reflect and notice what you may be ready to leave behind.

Full Moons have long been associated with completion, reflection and release in spiritual traditions. While the Moon itself doesn't decide what needs to change in our lives, it can become a meaningful reminder to pause and look inward.

And sometimes, that pause is exactly what we need.

You Don't Always Need to Manifest More

We often use Full Moons to think about what we want next.

More love.
More abundance.
More opportunities.
More clarity.

But what if this Full Moon wasn't about asking for more?

What if it was about making space?

There may be an expectation you've outgrown. A habit that no longer feels like you. An emotion you've been carrying for too long. Or simply the pressure to have everything figured out.

You don't have to force yourself to let go.

Start by noticing what feels heavy.

Ask Yourself This

Find a few quiet minutes around the Full Moon and ask:

What am I holding onto simply because it feels familiar?

What feels complete, even if I haven't acknowledged it yet?

What would I like to carry a little less of into the next month?

Write whatever comes to you without trying to make it sound profound.

Sometimes awareness is enough.

A Simple Full Moon Practice

Take a blank page and begin with:

“I am ready to make space for…”

Let yourself write freely.

When you're finished, take a moment to acknowledge whatever came up. You don't need to burn the paper, perform an elaborate ritual or force yourself to feel different immediately.

Simply recognising what you're ready to carry differently can be a beginning.

This Full Moon, perhaps don't ask yourself what else you need to become.

Ask instead:

What am I ready to stop carrying?

Sometimes making space is its own kind of beginning.
